The Division point totals are determined by a paddler's participation in a specific division and how well they placed. For example: If a paddler races both on an OC-1 and an OC-2, they will show up in both divisions. If you miss a race, your point total for that race will be the total number of entries in your division plus 1. Same is true if you race OC-1 and OC-2 for example. In the OC-1 division for the race you paddled OC-2, your points will show that you didn't race it. Those who stayed in the same division, participated in most of the races and did well will have the lowest point totals. The lower the points, the higher the standing. Every paddler's worst race is also discarded.
This year we lost Starbucks as a sponsor for the Maui to Molokai race so MCKC is incurring more expenses. In lieu of this, MCKC will be giving prizes to the division winners and free 2009 memberships to the Novice B winners.
